Organized by the China Power Supply Society (CPSS) and undertaken by the CPSS Popular Science Working Committee and the High-Frequency Power Electromagnetic Technology Laboratory of Fuzhou University, the 2024 "Advanced Training Course on Magnetic Technology Analysis, Testing and Application of Power Converters" was successfully held in Fuzhou City, Fujian Province from June 28 to 30, 2024. More than 100 representatives from enterprises, institutions, universities and research institutes across the country participated in this advanced training course.
This training course has been held for the 12th consecutive year. Professor Chen Wei from the School of Electrical Engineering and Automation, Fuzhou University, who is the Standing Director of the China Power Supply Society, Honorary Director of the Magnetic Technology Professional Committee, served as the chief planner and keynote expert of this training course. On the basis of sorting out the basic electromagnetic theory, combined with the specific analysis, design, testing and application of magnetic components in power converter products, the course enabled engineers to deeply understand the various performances, influencing factors and design considerations of magnetic components from the perspective of electromagnetic field mechanism, and overcome the limitations of traditional design methods. The course content systematically and in-depth explained the basic electromagnetic concepts and applications of high-frequency magnetic technology, the electromagnetic interference (EMI) characteristic analysis and design technology of magnetic components, the electrical and loss characteristics of magnetic materials and their applications, as well as magnetic materials and their applications. Associate Professor Chen Qingbin, Associate Professor Lin Subin, Associate Professor Wang Jinghui, Dr. Xie Wenyan from Fuzhou University also gave lectures on magnetic component windings, high-frequency loss analysis and winding design, the use and analysis methods of electromagnetic field simulation software, and the characteristic parameter measurement technology of magnetic components.

This advanced training course combined theoretical explanation with practical engineering cases, and included many example explanation sessions. It made specific analysis and explanation on issues such as forward and flyback transformers, PSFB (Phase-Shifted Full-Bridge) and LLC circuits, and the measurement and influencing factor analysis of transformer common-mode noise characteristics. This enabled the participants to have an intuitive understanding of the relevant theoretical knowledge, deepened their comprehension of the relevant content, and improved their ability to solve practical problems.
In addition to the formal teaching hours, to facilitate sufficient communication and questioning, a 30-minute free exchange session was specially arranged at the end of each day's course. The lecturers fully communicated with the participants and gave detailed answers to each participant's questions.
After three days of intensive teaching, the advanced training course was successfully concluded. The participants highly recognized this training course, believing that the combination of theory and practice in the course content deepened their intuitive understanding of the teaching content, and had strong pertinence and guidance for engineers' practical R&D work.
